Meet The Team
Chief Executive Officer
Mary Elizabeth (she/her)
Mary is a seasoned fundraising event veteran, bringing over a decade of expertise in event production and nonprofit support. Her distinguished 10-year career at Swaim Strategies has equipped her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of event planning and strategic fundraising.
Mary thrives on organizing and creating order out of chaos, which has driven her towards systems-based, detail-oriented work throughout her career. She has collaborated with many organizations, preparing for their event using event databases and other tools.
She believes that effective organization and systems enable people to thrive and that when individuals unite around a common cause, it can lead to systemic change in the world. Mary knows that creating the ideal environment for these changes requires meticulous detail management and tracking.
As CEO of The Fundraising Event Co., Mary continues to advance the field of fundraising event production, advocating for solutions that adapt to the rapidly evolving landscape of hybrid, virtual, and in-person events. Her commitment to excellence, combined with her strategic vision, makes her an invaluable partner to nonprofits looking to elevate their fundraising efforts.
Vice President of Project Management + Client Relations
Ryan Goodwin (he/him)
With more than 2 decades of experience as an elite athlete and collegiate coach, Ryan has been immersed in team building and individual skill improvement for most of his career. With coaching stops spanning both coasts––he has worked at, among others, Penn, Rice University and the University of Portland. He has developed a broad skill set including coaching, recruiting and consulting. As a part of his continuing evolution as a coach, Goodwin trained with former French National team coach Ralph Hippolyte to become an Actiontype Practitioner, blending personality preferences with motor pattern learning to create individual improvement plans for athletes and teams.
Ryan has spent the last 8 years (since 2016) with Swaim Strategies helping people to do more than they thought they could. His professional career has been centered around actualizing potential and creating plans for success. His role at Swaim evolved over the years to center around strategic event and fundraising guidance while maintaining a holistic view of each project. Ryan is excited to bring that experience to The Fundraising Event Company to partner with clients new and returning as we try to create the community that we all envision.
He believes in the power of the intersection of strategy and story––to create movement that strengthens where we live. He believes that there is more in all of us and it takes a strategic plan to turn that potential into action and results.
